Day 6 of ticks

When we got back, we did another check of Lucy who seemed clean.  I then felt something on my back and freaked out.  After I completely undressed, I think we found 6 on me.  The R checked out all my clothes and aside from finding one more on my clothing box, I think I am clean, so far.  But each time we let Lucy out we have to check her because she lounges in the grass.  I am tempted to shave her and I just might have to do that.  The R just found another in her.
When we got back the first batch of clothing was nicely dry and smelled fresh.  So the next batch was hung and then came rain, but just for a bit.
The hike was essentially a prairie hike with up and downs.  We had our binocs with us and used them to stare at the magnificent surroundings.  Just east of us are large lush hilly areas with grandiose farms fenced in (to keep the Montana neighbors out or the cattle in?).  Along the trail we once again were surrounded by birds chirping, singing and warbling. There were deer tracks and areas that may have been where they nestled down because the grass was flattened out considerably.  When we came out of this woodsy area we found Lewis and Clark!  I took a pic of them scanning the terrain.  Continuing up and down the trail, oblivious to Lucy accumulating hitchhikers, I kept my eye on the R's good looking legs to be sure he wasn't also carrying hitchhikers.  The smell of sage was pronounced, but there really was a paucity of flowering plants.  I don't know my birds, but we saw some!  Little bright colored ones, black ones with red areas visible when they flew away, black ones with yellow under their wings.  Close to the water, ducks and I think some sort of a sand piper.
Back at the HH now, we are laughing at the laundry doing jumping jacks in the wind, having a beer and getting ready to re-heat the drunken Italian sausage pasta I made last night.  Then a fire.  Yes.
Tomorrow we leave but won't get to Glacier until the day after where we want to spend 2 or 3 days

Fini 7/19

We were on the road early, stopped of at Mickey Ds for coffee and crap before heading home.  I do like Wisconsin.  It is a wonderfully beaut...
