Day 5

and they all gave the same instructions. So kept driving through hell.  Through rough roads dirt flying pat large expansive Halliburton buildings and trucks, waiting in line to be allowed through a railroad crossing one to two cars at a time during rush hour.  Weird system.  Instructed to turn right into helliburton property then turn left then right.  The R was starting to lose it (justifiably, I might add)  so I asked a tool belt worker is we were lost.  Yup.  Turn around and go back the way you came (30 miles of hell and Hall).  So we did, but called the park to be sure we were coming in the right direction.  "Yup.  Keep coming.  Awful roads. Awful traffic, but we are here til 8:00". Yikes. What does THAT mean?  Should I be reassured?  So,what did we have to do but go thru the stupid rail road obstacle again only to be met by a big back hoe blocking the road in both directions.  Absolutely dead still for about 15". Then Lucy decides she has to "go".  Right now.  Here.  In this traffic jam.  So I let her out, she runs around in circles, won't pee, runs from me and I have visions of her being smashed by helliburton trucks.  I grab her, she rolls on her tummy to have it scratched and smiles.  She just needed to stretch her little legs, Imthink.Right.  Very funny Lucy.

But, we get out of that and finally find,our destination with aboutm15 miles left of fuelas we watch across,the horizon dozens of oil diggers spewing gas.  So many they light the horizon!  The R wondered aloud if the Pioneers were regretting selling and moving on.  So much $$$$$ here it is unbelievable.za

Arriving at Lewis and Clark well after 5:00, we have settled in and will be here another night so we can explore this area.  The birds are so happy and loud that even when I was inside cooking dinner with the fan  on, we could hear them. I could see them in the trees but when I tried out my Vinod for the second time, I couldn't train my eyes in them..  the park is massive and expansive.  We are in one of what I think is about 5 different areas.  We took a brief walk after dinner and then.....RAIN !
